Chrono Cross is an RPG developed by SquareSoft (now Square Enix) and published by SquareSoft own and in Japan by Square Electronic Arts in the United States. It is an extension of the universe of the game Chrono Trigger, which was released in 1995 for the Super Nintendo. Unlike the “Dream Team” responsible for Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross was developed primarily by writer and director Masato Kato and other programmers who participated in the development of Chrono Trigger, including art director Yasuyuki Honne and sound planner Minoru Akao. Yasunori Mitsuda was responsible for the compositions of Chrono Cross as Nobuteru Yu0026#363;ki was in charge of the design of the characters.
The story of Chrono Cross focuses on teenage boy named Serge and the theme of parallel worlds (home world and another world). Faced with an alternate reality in which died as a child, Serge goes in search of the truth about the divergence between the two worlds. The charismatic thief Kid and 43 other characters assist him in his journey through the tropical archipelago El Nido. In the struggle to reveal his past and find the mysterious Frozen Flame, Serge is repeatedly confronted by Lynx, a shadowy antagonist working to apprehend him.
Although not the continuation of Chrono Trigger as many think, Chrono Cross has some references to his predecessor. The battle system is turn-based, but there is no Active Time Battle, besides physical attacks and spells with different elements and each character has its own color that adds these elements, the field effect and double techniques! The evolution system looks like Final Fantasy 2 (don’t have “level up”, you fight and gain more attributes). Undoubtedly it was one of the games released that use the graphic and sound power of Playstation nearly the maximum (with great sound effects, detailed environments and beautiful cutscenes) while mixing a grand and full of plot surprises between Serge and Lynx, and issues such as reincarnation and others. A simply unforgettable game like Chrono Trigger.
I had work to transfer from CD1 to CD2, because PSXJin gave error at this end of disk 1, so I had to use a save from the beginning of disc 2 (power on + memory card) and continue playing with a movie only to disk 2 (and a movie for disk 1, one movie for each disc), what made this event had been a little different (this video shows the game with Nikki and Guile) in order to finish the game. Hope you like it, wanted to do more finals, but in this video you will see the best ending. Hope you enjoy this video of this great game!
